When viewers across Canada tune in to this week’s episode of The Amazing Race Canada, they’ll catch a glimpse of one of Kelowna’s most unique aviation destinations.
The KF Centre for Excellence was proud to welcome the production team and contestants of Season 12, offering a national audience the opportunity to discover the rich history, innovation and people behind aviation in our region.
Home to beautifully restored historic aircraft, interactive exhibits and inspiring stories of Canadian aviation, the Centre celebrates a legacy that continues to shape the future of aerospace education and innovation.
Founded by aviation entrepreneur Barry Lapointe, Founder and Chairman of KF Aerospace, the KF Centre was created to inspire future generations by preserving Canada’s aviation heritage while celebrating the remarkable people who built it. Today, that vision continues through exhibits, educational programming and community experiences that welcome thousands of visitors each year.
The Centre is also proud to share its campus with KF Aerospace and Okanagan College’s Aerospace Program, with the future Okanagan College Aerospace Training Centre currently under construction. Together, these organizations create a unique aviation hub where history, education, skilled trades, and industry come together rooted in the Okanagan.
One of the most meaningful moments during filming was welcoming contestants alongside Davina Boa, a long-time employee with KF Aerospace. Having someone whose career has been dedicated to maintaining aircraft help welcome racers to the Centre was a fitting reflection of the skilled professionals who continue to shape Canada’s aviation industry.
