In recognition of Women in Aviation Week, the KF Centre for Excellence is proud to host Celebrating Okanagan Women in Aviation — an intimate conversation and networking evening highlighting the women contributing to the strength and future of aerospace in our region.

This event brings together students, industry professionals, educators, and lovers of aviation for a moderated fireside discussion, live audience Q&A, and networking reception.

Aligned with the Centre’s mission to celebrate aerospace legacy and inspire participation in aviation, this evening creates space for meaningful dialogue and workforce development within the Okanagan aviation community.

Meet the Speakers:

Christine Von Bulow First Officer, Boeing 737 – Air Canada
Christine flies the Boeing 737 with Air Canada and is a member of the Canadian Rockies Chapter of The Ninety-Nines. She will share insight into building a career in commercial aviation and her experience flying with Canada’s flagship airline.

Doreen Olson Retired Flight Attendant – Air Canada
Doreen brings decades of experience in commercial aviation. She will reflect on the progression of women in aviation throughout her career and share her experience on the 1986 Odyssey DC-3 around the world journey.

Ellena Schuffert Duty Manager – Kelowna International Airport
From ground operations to leadership at YLW Airport, she’ll explore the wide range of careers within airports and the mindset, training, and experience that help aviation professionals grow and flourish.

Beth Christianos Director of Maintenance & Managing Partner – Leading Edge Aerospace
Beth leads in rotorcraft maintenance and aviation operations at Leading Edge Aerospace. She will provide insight into technical aviation careers and the leadership required to manage maintenance teams.

Rianne Stanway Flight Service Specialist and Team Supervisor – NAV Canada
With nearly two decades in Air Traffic Services, Rianne supports safe and efficient airport operations with NAV Canada at YYF Penticton Airport. She will share insight into operational aviation careers, the pathway into Air Traffic Services, and how leadership and advocacy are helping share a more inclusive future in the industry.
