Adding to the significance of the occasion, Member of Parliament for Kelowna and Canada’s Secretary of State, Defence Procurement, and retired Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot, Stephen Fuhr, will have the honour of being at the controls of the engine run-up.

With decades of experience in aviation, including service as an RCAF Major, CF-18 Hornet pilot, and flight instructor, Fuhr’s participation symbolizes the connection between Canada’s aviation heritage, public service, and the people who continue to steward these remarkable aircraft today.
