On September 18, 2025, the KF Centre for Excellence will proudly host Haul for Hope — a high-energy aviation challenge supporting Hope Air and their mission to remove the barriers of cost and distance for Canadians needing critical medical care.

This event, presented by WestJet for Western Canada, will see teams of 10-12 people go head-to-head in a test of strength, determination, and teamwork — pulling a 67,000 lb WestJet Q-400 aircraft 75 meters across our tarmac.

While the competition is thrilling, the cause is even more powerful. Hope Air facilitates more than 50,000 travel arrangements each year, ensuring patients can access life-saving treatment no matter where they live. Every $1,000 raised funds an entire trip, including flights, accommodations, meals, and ground transportation for a family in need.

Kelowna’s fundraising goal is $40,000, and we’re inviting businesses, organizations, and community groups to register a team, raise funds, and join us on the tarmac. With a $3,500 team fundraising target, participants will combine the excitement of aviation with the impact of helping Canadians in their most challenging moments.

“We’re honoured to be the host venue for Haul for Hope in Kelowna. This partnership connects our passion for aviation with a cause that directly supports communities across Canada,” says Executive Director of CFE, Chris Lapointe. “It’s about more than pulling a plane — it’s about pulling together for the greater good.”
