DESCRIPTION:The KF Centre for Excellence is proud to welcome Art for Impact: An Okanagan Fine Art Auction\, an inspiring evening where art\, community\, and generosity come together to support an important local cause. \nOn Saturday\, April 18\, Kelowna’s Gospel Mission will host this special fundraising event inside the Centre’s iconic aviation setting. Guests will enjoy an elevated evening featuring original artwork from talented artists\, a live art auction\, silent and live auctions\, culinary experiences\, and live entertainment\, all in support of programs that serve individuals experiencing homelessness\, poverty\, and hardship in our community. \nAs a place dedicated to inspiring curiosity\, education\, and connection through aviation\, the KF Centre for Excellence regularly brings people together for meaningful events that celebrate community. Art for Impact is one of those evenings – a gathering that pairs creativity and generosity with real local impact. \nSupporting Kelowna’s Gospel Mission\nKelowna’s Gospel Mission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting neighbours facing homelessness and hardship in Kelowna. Through services including emergency shelter\, meals\, outreach support\, connections to recovery programs\, casework\, and a Community Dental Clinic\, the organization provides compassionate care and practical support for those working toward stability and healing. \nTheir mission is simple and powerful: “To feed the hungry\, shelter the homeless\, and help the hurting.” \nTurning Inspiration into Impact\nArt for Impact transforms one inspiring evening into meaningful change. SUMMARY:CAHS National Convention & Aviation Cultures Conference Coming to Kelowna in 2026
DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to share that the KF Centre for Excellence will host the Canadian Aviation Historical Society (CAHS) National Convention in partnership with the Aviation Cultures Mk.VIII Conference\, taking place June 17–20\, 2026\, both in Kelowna\, BC and online. \nThis will be the first-ever joint event between the long-standing CAHS Convention and the global\, storytelling-focused Aviation Cultures series—bringing together two respected platforms for aviation history\, dialogue\, and community. Whether attending in person or online\, participants can look forward to a rich mix of presentations\, conversations\, and perspectives. \nWhat to Expect\nAmong other themes\, this international conference will explore the shared history and differences between Canadian and Australian aviation—highlighting connections\, contrasts\, and unique stories from each country’s aviation legacy. The event will also feature signature CAHS Convention sessions and the broader creative and scholarly approach of Aviation Cultures. \nA call for papers and conference themes will be announced later this year\, so stay tuned. \nA Collaborative Effort\nThe 2026 event is being co-organized by Edward Soye (Canada) and James Kightly (Australia)\, with support from both CAHS and Aviation Cultures.
